the server is basicly lag free unless someone is in twilight

Thank you my friend. We run a dedicated server with an i5 6600k (One of the highest single threat performance CPU's). On top of that we allow players to use the /gc command so they can check the server TPS at any given moment. Which has been a nice and stable 19/20. Furthermore the next bottleneck is the write/read speed of the Harddrive, loading chunks and even creating worlds can cause timeouts(Which is why dimension creation gets often put behind a paywall, not on DIRTCRAFT). To tackle this issue we have upgraded to an 1TB SSD.

Feed the Beast is full of mods that add exciting new weapons and gear. Some of this gear is used to blow things up and tear holes in the world. This server uses FTB chunk claiming with plenty of chunks to let you claim your territory. Although this prevents you from right clicking and breaking blocks, it doesn't prevent these FTB items from destroying others' bases.

The spawn point on the current map has changed a couple of times. If you go to older places and look through the shops there, they've all been griefed to hell. Many many random chests have been blown up with chunks of walls missing. Someone even used a turtle to steal from admin chests at spawn. Then we found out that the spawn chunk wasn't even protected...

My base got griefed last map (before a modpack version bump and map reset). Okay, I had an ME storage thing behind some glass and my doors were half-built, the roof of my base was just scaffolding, I was kind of close to spawn, it was pretty obvious. The admin wasn't able to undo the damage (!) but I'd played before the map reset so I figured I could just wait for the next one.

Well, it happened again. Someone broke into my obsidian storage room, broke all of my obsidian chests, and set a bunch of fires across my base (which the "no fire tick" setting doesn't really help with).

Don't make my mistakes! Don't join this server if you value your builds! If you must, try to build >10k blocks from spawn and keep the true value of your base hidden (unfortunately I hadn't covered up the obsidian room yet which made it a target). This is good advice for any modpack as most mods aren't written with "this shouldn't be a griefing tool" in mind. Find a good computercraft script for monitoring who enters your base and hide it by your storage. Don't trust the admins to be able to revert damage done.

You are a long time player. Im sorry ive failed to restore your base. Once I read your message about the grief, I immediately downloaded a backup from the server so I could roll back your base. But you had already left :(. You should know that if you had given me time I would have worked things out.

Sadly ive had to add the mining turtle to the banlist because people were abusing our small banlist.

I hope in the future I can find a way to prevent things happening beforehand. But this is not always possible when trying to keep the banned items to a minimum.

This is my initial take on this server and I will update if this changes, for good or ill. So far this server is pretty good. Terrain isn't ridiculous to traverse, lag is minimal or non-existent and fellows in the server seem relatively well behaved. As it stands, I would recommend trying this server out.

Side note: As I am reading previous reviews, I hope for the sake of this server's longevity whoever was in charge of replying to reviews has been replaced with someone who can take criticism or has learned to take criticism with stride. I mention this because seeing "name of gtfo" and "reviewer is bringing drama into the reviews" multiple multiple times is a very childish response to make, showing they are taking any and all criticism way too seriously. Just a suggestion.

As for the answers to the previous reviews: Some players were so interconnected with the server.. that they asked me to ban players they were having a fuss with. If I didn't I would face the consequences of them leaving and them and their friends leaving bad reviews... which happened.

To all who read this: Do not expect me to ban players because you get into a fight with them.

Happy to of joined the server its been about a year and I still play! (Majority of the negative reviews have been people who have constant tantrums or have been banned for griefing, neither category seem to play anymore.)
